Cochrane Culture Days Are Coming!

Cochrane Integrated Arts Society is again organizing Cochrane Culture Days, to be held September 10-11. This year we are teaming up with the Cochrane Farmers Market and the Cochrane Classic Car Club to combine great performances with their ongoing events. A new addition to the line up is local authors reading excerpts of their works.

Saturday morning, the Main Stage will open at 10:00am at the Cochrane Farmers Market (Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre) with a schedule of performances of local community music and dance groups including the Cochrane Pipe Band, the Stoney Mini Thni Dancers and Band on the Bow Concert Band.

Between the performances, learn about our amazing local authors as they read excerpts of their works. Balloons and Butterflies balloon twister will be there creating fun balloon shapes for the kid and Amber’s Face Painting will happy to give them a new persona!

Sunday morning, the Main Stage moves to Centennial Plaza on Main Street with another full programme of jazz, folk and country bands. Come out to see the amazing cars and trucks at the Cochrane Classic Car Club Show ‘N’ Shine, and enjoy the performances. Between bands, more local authors will read excerpts of their works, and face painting and balloon twisting will again be set up by the Main Stage.

There are even more exciting activities in the planning stage and we will send out an update as soon as they are confirmed.

If you are an amateur or professional author, or know a local author, who would be interested in joining in the fun and reading 5-7 minutes of your work, simply email president@cochraneartsociety.com and we will fit you in!

Cochrane Culture Days is a perfect opportunity for the residents of Cochrane and area to enjoy a variety of performance and literary arts of their cultural heritage. It is also an opportunity for the community to connect with local arts groups, instructors and businesses to explore the many opportunities that exist.

  • I’m looking for contact information for a gentleman who had a travel company that organized tours to spanish speaking countries, including Peru, and also taught Spanish classes. He was at the Lion’s Centre marketplace in September 2021 during 2021 cultural days. Would you have his contact information. I was not able to attend this year and was hoping to use his services.
