Cochrane Culture Days 2023 Are Coming!

Our fourth annual Cochrane Culture Days is going to be another great festival.

Saturday September 9, Cochrane Culture Days will be at the Cochrane Farmers Market (Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre) from 10am to 2pm. Check out the many terrific vendors at the Market and enjoy the performances of the Drowsy Maggies (Celtic band), the Stoney Mini Thni Dancers with Kyle Snow drumming and singing, Band on the Bow Concert Band also with Kyle Snow, and Calgary Wind Symphony.

Balloons and Butterflies balloon twisters will be there creating fun balloon shapes for the kids and Imagine That YYC Face Painting will be happy to give them a new persona!

Also on Saturday, Cochrane Immigrant Services Committee will be holding their Culture Fest at the Lions Club Event Centre from 1-4pm. Be sure to head over there to check out their festivities and learn about the variety of cultures that make up Cochrane.

Sunday, September 10, the Cochrane Culture Days stage moves to Centennial Plaza, Main Street, during the Cochrane Class Car Club Show ‘N’ Shine, to combine great performances with their ongoing event.  Come out to see the amazing cars and trucks at the Cochrane Classic Car Club Show ‘N’ Shine, and enjoy our program of Six By Six, Cochrane Pipe Band, Fig Fusion, Riverside Jazz, Hippocratic Oath Big Band and Canmore Dixieland Band.

Balloons and Butterflies balloon twisters and Imagine That YYC Face Painting will be there to add to the festivity.

Stroll over to the tipi-raising site just a block away on 2nd Ave (across from Cochrane Coffee Traders) to watch as the tipi poles are set in place and the canvas wrapped around and staked. In the afternoon, enjoy the Mini Thni Dancers as they perform in front of the tipi.

At the west end of Main Street, stop in at Wazin Ichinabi Ti – House of Oneness – to browse their artisan sale open from 10am to 4pm and take home something special.

There is so much to enjoy during Cochrane Culture Days! It’s the perfect opportunity for the whole family to take in our local arts and culture scene.
